Wrongful death lawsuit might follow fatal U.S. 41 crash

Learning about the unexpected death of a loved one is naturally traumatic, but when it involves another party's negligence, the trauma is typically exacerbated. Such circumstances frequently lead to wrongful death lawsuits. This might also be what follows a recent crash in Florida.

Reportedly, the Florida Highway Patrol launched an investigation into a fatal automobile accident that occurred where U.S. 41 intersects with another Pasco County road at about midnight on a recent Thursday. According to troopers, a 74-year-old Tampa man was southbound on U.S. 41 with one passenger in his car, and a 21-year-old Clearwater driver was following behind him. At the same time, a 44-year-old man from Spring Hill was traveling in the opposite direction on the same highway.

For reasons yet to be determined, the northbound van driver crossed over into the lane of the southbound drivers. The accident report indicates that this vehicle struck the car of the Tampa man, causing the driver's death. The driver of the other car apparently tried to avoid a collision by swerving to the right but smashed into two trees. The passenger in the vehicle of the man who died at the accident scene and the drivers of both the other cars were taken to a hospital, all with serious injuries.

Florida families who have had to deal with the death of loved ones in car accidents that resulted from the negligence of others might have grounds to file wrongful death lawsuits. This is a way to pursue financial relief to ease the unanticipated financial burden brought about by the end-of-life expenses and other economic and emotional damages sustained. An experienced personal injury attorney can provide support and guidance throughout ensuing legal proceedings.
